Peter R. Ulanowicz, Esq.–An Artisan’s Touch in Law

Over the past two decades, attorney Peter R. Ulanowicz has aggressively strived to protect the rights of his clients, relentlessly fighting for their interests both in and out of the courtroom.

Born and raised in Calvert County, Maryland, Peter’s longtime love for the State of Florida lead him to attend Stetson University in DeLand, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2001. Answer the call to fulfill a career in the legal field, Peter continued his education by attending St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens, where he graduated cum laude, served as a member of the school’s Law Review, and earned the prestigious Book Award in Legal Research and Writing that signified him earning the top grade of his entire class in that particular subject.

After passing the Florida Bar and being admitted into practice in 2005, Peter began his career as an attorney specializing in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice before ultimately finding his true passion in 2007 in the field of labor and employment law. Ever since that pivotal moment in his career, he has exclusively represented the rights of employees in complex legal disputes against their former and current employers.

Whether it be a pre-litigation demand, injunction hearing, arbitration proceeding or jury trial, Peter holds extensive experience in whatever form or stage of procedure that he has been called to assist on behalf of his clients. Given the level of tenacity that sort of work requires, it’s no real surprise in just over the past decade Peter has brought in nearly $7 million in settlements and monetary awards for the many employees he has represented.

Peter’s dedicated work also led to him becoming a noted authority in the area of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements thanks to his successful defense of employees in multiple disputes over those types of restrictive covenants. In 2011, his two-part article on that subject Taking the Fight to the Bullies: Tortious Interference Liability for Both Employer and Attorney on Baseless Restrictive Covenants was published by the Florida Bar Journal, concisely outlining the legal rights and remedies available for any employee whose work may have been negatively impacted by an odious and unduly burdensome restrictive covenant with a former employer.

Peter’s vast litigation experience ranges from state, federal and appellate level courts all throughout the state of Florida, from the Keys to the Panhandle and everywhere in between.

After years of successful practice with other lawyers, Peter ultimately chose to take the bold next step in his career by opening the Ulanowicz Firm, LLC, a law firm exclusively dedicated to defending the legal rights of employees throughout all of Florida.

By this decision, Peter hopes to bring his unique artisan touch and provide his clients with a custom and individualized level of representation not readily available through larger and more impersonal law firms. When not vigorously defending the rights of employees in a court of law, Peter enjoys spending family time with his wife and two daughters, open water swimming, avidly following baseball, writing, and exploring Florida’s many natural springs and other scenic wildlife areas.
